Uptown Charlotte Growing Again

Charlotte is on the move, recession or no recession. Charlotte's commitment to the Arts is well known, 2nd only to New York City in independent funds raised for the Arts, but the addition of the South Tryon Cultural Center is a site to behold, from conception to reality, the wait is almost over. In addition to the 52 story office tower, here are the Cultural additions:
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art- opens 1/2/10
Harvey Gantt Center for African-American Art- opened October, 2009
Knight Theater-opened October, 2009
New Mint Musuem of Art-opens 1st quarter 2010 But it is not just the Arts.
Charlotte opened its first Five star hotel, the Ritz-Carlton October 1, a BofA project, connected to Bank of America Plaza.
The new NASCAR Hall of Fame is scheduled to open May 1, 2010. Bank of America's new 32 story office tower, open late 2010, or early 2011.
The 52 Story Duke Energy Headquarters opens 2nd quarter 2010 Here is a look at some of the new buildings, all opening this fall...
